I am a rising Junior at Virginia Tech, pursuing my B.S. in psychology. Following my graduation, I plan to attend graduate school for counseling in the hopes of obtaining my PhD. My interests lie specifically in the treatment of substance addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder, and treatment resistant depression.
I entered school my Freshman year as a business major, fearing a lack of career prospects in my true field of interest, psychology. However, after only a semester of IT and accounting courses, I was certain that I needed to commit to my passion and study psychology.
In the abbreviated words of Orson Welles, “a healthy man owes to the sick all that he can do for them”. I realized how fortunate I am and that I could not expect to feel fulfilled unless I was working to the benefit of others. As an intern for Life Solutions Counseling Group/The ADHD College Success Program, I have been given an incredible opportunity to gain real-world experience in my desired career field through assisting with the day-to-day operations of the practice and direct interactions with clients.
